Cricket Australia’s Media and Broadcast Legal Team is seeking to appoint an additional Legal Counsel to provide commercial legal support and advice to the Digital and Media and Broadcast departments in relation to the development, protection and exploitation of Cricket Australia’s digital and media assets. Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, Media Rights and Broadcast, you will work in an exciting, issue-rich environment. Key responsibilities will include:
- the review, negotiation and drafting of commercial, IT and media rights agreements;
- providing legal advice in relation to IT agreements, fair dealing, intellectual property, data sharing/privacy issues, licensing, editorial issues and general commercial matters; and
- supporting the development of digital strategy in the negotiation of media rights agreements.
This is an outstanding career opportunity for a lawyer with 2-3 years’ post qualification experience with superior drafting and analytical skills and experience in intellectual property and commercial drafting gained in either a major law firm or a highly reputable in-house environment. Experience, a sound understanding and/or interest in Media and Technology/IT (specifically Digital) Law is desirable. Strong inter-personal skills are a must due to the diverse range of stakeholders you will be dealing with. Your confidence and sharp business acumen, together with a service-orientated and versatile approach will ensure your success in this position.
