In this role, you will provide advice and drafting assistance for the integrity team as it strives to ensure that the sport of tennis is a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all, at all levels. You will help ensure that the game is played, coached and administered in the right spirit and that athletes, administrators, officials, supporters and other stakeholders engage in positive, role model conduct on and off the court. You will use your exceptional dispute resolutions skills to navigate and resolve member protection, child safety anti-doping and anti-corruption matters.

 

About the role

Reporting into the Director of Integrity and Compliance, in this role you will:

· Play a leading role in the management and development of Tennis Australia’s national policy framework

· Work with the International Tennis Integrity Agency on anti-doping and anti-corruption matters and initiatives for the Australian Open and other major tennis events in Australia

· Support integrity team strategies aimed at assessing integrity risk areas and develop initiatives to proactively manage and mitigate such integrity risks.

· Provide legal advice in relation to investigations of alleged breaches of TA’s national policies, and where appropriate, advocate on behalf of Tennis Australia at disciplinary proceedings.

· Work with the Member Associations to ensure the TA National policies and procedures are implemented throughout the MAs and broader tennis community

· Conduct legal research on legislation, case law and best practice policy in relation to child safety, anti-doping, corruption and member protection

About you

What you will bring to the role:
 

·         Bachelor of Laws.

·         3-4+ PQE, either at a law firm or in an in-house environment.

  • Current Full Practicing Certificate (Victoria).

·         Strong experience in dispute resolution is essential.

·         Highly developed drafting and negotiation skills.

·         Working knowledge of sports law (desirable)

·         You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
