Club Licensing Manager - Football Federation Australia

Football Australia, the national governing body for football, is currently seeking a full time Club Licensing Manager, starting March 2021 and based in Sydney.

Reporting to the Legal Counsel – Regulatory, the Club Licensing Manager will under the umbrella of Football Australia XI Principles, drive programs towards a ‘One Football’ governance framework in line with global standards and best-practice sports governance in Australia to protect and enhance the best interests of football and our community.

This role will administer and manage the implementation and development of the Club Licensing Framework in Australia for the A-League, W-League, Y-Leagues, FFA Cup and AFC Asian Champions Leagues and other products as and when needed by Football Australia.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Club Licensing Framework in Australia for the Professional Leagues, FFA Cup, AFC Asian Champions League, National Premier League competitions and National Second Division (when launched);
  • Serve as a point-of-contact for Australian clubs, the Professional Leagues, Member Federations and AFC for all Club Licensing matters;
  • Conduct, coordinate and assist all activities such as courses, seminars/workshops and quality compliance audits in relation to Club Licensing for Clubs;
  • Administer and facilitate development within Clubs the AFC Club Licensing Administration System (CLAS);
  • Correspond with the AFC and FIFA regarding progress of Club Licensing in Australia, including informing AFC of any event occurring after the licensing decision that constitutes a significant change to the information previously submitted to the licensor, including a change of legal form or legal group structure;
  • Conduct assessment visits and/or compliance audits to licence applicants to ensure licence applicants have fulfilled their obligations as defined in the Club Licensing Framework;
  • Assist and facilitate Club Licensing knowledge sharing between domestic stakeholders, and sharing expertise with other FIFA Member Associations, FIFA and AFC;
  • Development and implementation of national reporting regime and undertaking and collating technical analysis on trends in Club Licensing.

Experience and skills required:

  • Must possess at least a degree in sport management or any other sport related field
  • Team player, excellent communicator, ability to think through problems & achieve effective solutions, innovative & constantly seeking better ways of doing things
  • Commitment to work as a member of a small team in a dynamic environment
  • Able to effectively deliver important information to diverse stakeholders
  • Familiarity with the football industry, football law and regulations, and best practices will be an added advantage
  • Strong attention to detail, high standards of integrity, ability to represent Football Australia interests
  • Effective knowledge of IT & communication systems & platforms
  • Embraces the Football Australia values and fosters the behaviours and attitudes that contribute to a high performing culture
