Case Manager and Project Officer - National Sports Tribunal
The National Sports Tribunal (NST) was established in March 2020 to provide an effective, efficient, independent, and transparent tribunal for the resolution of off-field sporting disputes.
The NST is managed by a CEO, supported by a Deputy CEO and a small Registry that provide case management and administrative support. The 80 NST Members conduct the arbitrations, mediations, conciliations, and case appraisals.
The NST’s enquiries and caseload is increasing and is expected to continue to increase over the coming 12 months. To assist with this caseload, the NST is seeking to engage a Case Manager & Project Officer to, initially, support the case management team and, in time, to undertake case management.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide case management services and support for matters coming before the NST (see Position Description for further detail)
- Assist with the continuous improvement of the NST’s processes and procedures
- Manage activities and projects to support the efficient and effective operation of the NST
- Provide high quality program and policy advice
- Prepare a range of written materials including correspondence, file notes, briefs
- Other duties as required
Relevant Experience:
- Understanding of the Australian sport sector
- Experience of managing sports disputes is desirable
- Legal qualification would be highly regarded
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including exercising sound judgement and the ability to interpret and apply statutory frameworks
- Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines and deliver work to a high standard with good attention to detail
- Demonstrated personal drive, integrity and professionalism
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
The position is non-ongoing and is currently until the end of the NST Pilot, being 18 March 2023.
Base salary $79,002 plus up to 15.4% super.
